A Letter about CarpoolingThis is a message from the creator of RideSearch.com, Brian Bass Hello everyday commuters, About 2 years ago I was at the gas pump and considered all of this. As I paid for my gas I thought, someone has got to do something. Why not I? What is stopping me from making a difference? Then I realized a dream of a carpooling web site that the nation can use to find people who care enough to carpool. You see, carpooling has so many benefits that it is illogical not to pursue such a thing. Most people, however, do not want to sacrifice their current lifestyle to carpool. We want our own time in our cars in the morning. We want to live our lives without dealing with people. We want to not have to do anything at all in regards to the environment. We like to believe opposition that says there is nothing wrong, when the evidence is becoming overwhelming. We would rather not help others if it causes any unpleasantness on our behalf. The time is now to stop thinking like that. We DO have the power to make the sacrifice of giving up our cars in the morning. We CAN make a big difference in the WORLD. The difference will come by us actually lowering gas prices. A bigger demand for gas raises prices. If we can all halve our gas consumption, we most assuredly will lower gas prices. Can you imagine how much less traffic there would be if we all carpooled? Sacrifice is a cornerstone to change. There is no other way to save our planet. There is no miracle cure for our limited fossil fuels. There is no new fossil fuel to power our cars. The reason is because you would have to spend way more money to replace your car than to carpool. It all makes sense. Are we going to listen to the ones who say it is hopeless? Or are we going to carpool? Carpool for a better tomorrow. For the sake of our planet and our children's futures. Sincerely, Brian Bass |
